How To Add and Delete Contacts in Skype (for Windows 8)

There is no button for adding contacts in the UI of Skype. (I once got panicky when I couldn't find any button to add my contact very close to my appointment time for an online conversation.) To add a contact, right click on the home screen of Skype and then the options "add contact" and "save number" will appear in the lower right corner. Select the former and you will be prompted with a search box. After typing the contact name, select the person you'd like to add among the list of matches.

To delete a contact, click the name you'd like to delete in the "people" column, make a right click, and then select "remove" in the lower right corner of the screen to delete the contact. There are other options like "favorite", "view profile" and "block" which you may prefer to select.
